Your mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7’s centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

The Project HSE Manager has primary responsibility for proactive HSE management of all Project work within the overall HSE framework on a major EPCI Project. Also, the role holds the delegation of authority for HSE matters in the Suresnes office and support for ad hoc functional deliverables in line with the HSE function annual objectives.

On Project, the incumbent will be responsible for managing HSE deliverables on various packages, including effective monitoring and compliance of all supplier worksites both offshore and onshore. This role will require close working with the Project Managers, Project Operations Manager and the client. During execution, the Project HSE Manager will be fully responsible for the overall HSE management of offshore and onshore activities from vessel readiness, working with the vessels during mobilisation and execution plus management of the offshore HSE resources for the Project. This will require verification activities including auditing and inspections where safe to do so.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

Your main missions will be:

  • Lead a positive HSE culture and behaviour across Subsea7 and particularly within their Project.
  • Champion the Subsea7 Work Safe Home Safe Programme, setting the tone and leading by example.
  • Contribute to implementing HSE functional strategies and plans within their project and for wider support of the HSE function deliverables in line with the HSE function annual objectives.
  • Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the HSE activities within the Project.
  • Partner with Project Management Team to maintain positive client and subcontractor relations.
  • Leading the development and execution of a HSE activity plan and achieving its goals.
  • Track Project HSE performance and trends, and report on a monthly basis.
  • Manage and interface with Region colleagues in HSE to coordinate the Local HSE services and provide expertise.
  • Identifying Project and other in-country requirements to ensure necessary HSE resources are available and assigned.
  • Interface with appropriate managers to ensure HSE requirements are understood, addressed and opportunities for improvements are taken.
  • Ensure HSEQ capitalises from Lessons Learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
  • Develop the Local HSE Function through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continuing professional training.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in the Suresnes office in support of the Acergy Managing Director.
  • Your profile

  • Extensive and proven HSE experience, ideally in oil and gas industry
  • Professional qualifications – any of the HSEQ disciplines, or similar
  • Trained in – Incident Investigation Analysis
  • A recognised Environmental or Pollution Control qualification also an advantage
  • Experience of working on EPIC projects
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be fluent in English and have some knowledge of French language.
  • Must be mobile – could require extensive overseas travel.
